First, let me say that Serbs is a dope emcee and one of my favorites. His beat selection and use of samples—from conversations with his grandmother to Eddie Guerrero and beyond—all work together to create a masterpiece.

The beats knock, while the lyrics hit home through situations most of us have experienced at one time or another. Every song on Greenlight 6 feels like a chapter from the real life of a Chicano emcee navigating the working world and transforming everyday situations into Sistine Chapels built from bars that carry serious weight.

“Machine King” feels like the perfect final song to close the project.
